Ages: 13-16 years old
Cost: $370 (+tax)
Boats: 420s
Topics: As a Learn to Sail course, students will get an introduction to basic concepts of sailing such as points of sail and sail trim. In the 420, students pair with another sailor and take turns in the skipper and crew positions. Sailors will get hands-on experience rigging, steering, and maneuvering around docks and a course.
Objective: Sailors will be able to drive and crew in a 420, and leave with a sound understanding of the basic concepts of sailing. This is transferable to many different boats.
Modality: The course should be about half in the classroom, and half on the water. Classes will continue for two weeks in the afternoons.
