Ages: 5-7

Cost: $370 (plus tax)

Boats: Optimist/Prams 

Topics: How to rig, steer, sail, and dock boats. Points of sail, parts of the boat, knot tying, and having fun!

Students in this age group will sail two per Opti (small boat) with a coach nearby in a powerboat. Sailors will learn to navigate around a course with instruction and assistance from coaches. 

Objective: This introductory class is designed to familiarize your 5 to 7 year old with sailboats and allow them to become comfortable around the water. Each student will take turns as a skipper (driving the boat) and crew (controlling the sail). Sailors will learn the basics of sailing, and spend days on and in the water with friends. We hope to make this age group fun so children learn to love sailing as much as we do!
