Optimist Sailing: The optimist is a small dinghy designed for children. Originally called the “soapbox of the sea;” the Optimist is ideal for allowing children to gain confidence around the water as they learn the ins and outs of sailing.
The Opti sailing classes are designed to allow sailors ages 8 to 13 to become acquainted with sailing and the basics of racing. Sailors will get hands on experience rigging, steering, maneuvering around docks and maneuvering around a course.
Students will meet four Sunday afternoons from 1:00pm till 4:30pm.
